Good afternoon! I just want to say how much fun I’ve had blogging the past couple of weeks and the welcome I’ve received has been incredible! I love how supportive this community is!
Last week a fellow food blogger, Shea from Dixie Chik Cooks, proposed organizing a friendly ingredient challenge. I jumped at the opportunity since I’m always looking to create inventive recipes!
“Ingredient Challenge Monday” will be a bi-monthly event in which each participant is given a certain ingredient (or group of ingredients) to create a creative recipe with! Each blogger will post their creation for you to rate every other Monday, starting this Monday, December 20th!
Tomorrow we will announce the first “Ingredient Challenge Monday” ingredient! (If you’re a fellow blogger and want to participate, contact us ASAP!)
It may be cold & snowy but I’m bundled up in a blanket by the Christmas tree and think this is just a perfect morning for my first day of winter break! Look at my poor car with icicles hanging off the bumpers.
My boyfriend, Rob, flew in last night from San Francisco. He’s visiting for a few days before we spend Christmas with our families next week! We’ve enjoyed having a lazy morning with our Cuban coffee, egg nog oatmeal, and grapefruit.
I’ve forgotten how good grapefruit is, partially because I hate the idea of sticky hands and juice dripping down my elbows… but this morning I pulled out an old trick I learned from my mom when I was little… eating grapefruit with a spoon. It’s ingenious.
I just sliced the grapefruit in half, cut around the edges,
and in between each slice!
I will definitely be buying more grapefruit this winter now that I’ve remembered this trick.
Well, Rob and I are off to brave the cold & do some Christmas shopping this afternoon. Have you finished your holiday shopping yet?
