make it work.

February 28, 2012

This is one of those crazy weeks at school that I don’t really have time to exercise or blog. With both a biochemistry and nutritional epidemiology midterm on Thursday, I’m pretty consumed with studying but I’m determined to make it work because exercise and blogging make me happy.

I also had to make it work in the gym locker room this morning when I discovered I was missing one very important article of clothing…

clean underwear. Fail.

I met Anne at the track for a speed & strength workout before class and showered at the gym on campus to save time. I apparently packed my bag while half asleep this morning. Thankfully I discovered that Hanky Pankies can be washed and dried with a hair drier in just 5 minutes. As if I need another reason to love Hanky Panky. (Sidebar: love the new neon colors!)

Regardless of my undergarment situation, it was a beautiful morning for a workout.

We ended up doing about 2 miles on the track: 6 laps of “sprint the straights, jog the curves” and one warm-up and cool-down lap. In between laps we did some fun strengthening moves like star squats, side lunges, jumping burpees, tricep dips, pushups and balancing lateral leg lifts.

Run

Spring is definitely in the air. My legs haven’t seen the light of day in months but it was warm enough this morning for a little capri action!

good for you making your priorities come first! I usually just take it week by week when it comes to planning my workouts and blog time and that seems to work for me.

ps love hanky panky – best ever :)

Love your post – very true words. No matter what, you just have to “make it work”! Hope you are able to get through the rest of your week! On the upside, it’s almost Wednesday! :-)

It’s great that you were able to exercise despite your busy schedule in school. Planning ahead of time and allotting even few minutes to exercise (especially morning exercise) is already a great way to start the day.

I definitely feel ya on the difficulty of balancing school, blogging & exercise. Gotta make time for what makes us happy though. Good luck with your exams!
