celestial sips + a tealicious giveaway

January 4, 2013

Staying hydrated is something I’ve struggled with during the winter months. I’d frequently glance at the clock in the mid-afternoon, usually about the time that I start to feel a dull headache coming on, only to realize I’ve had no fluids since my morning cup of coffee. It’s no wonder I need to slather on way more expensive facial moisturizer in the winter – my poor cells probably look like raisins!

Let’s be honest though. Cold weather makes drinking cold water rather unappealing. Carrying around a cold water bottle all day, even less so. What is appealing to me in the wintertime though is a big mug of piping hot tea. When I say big, I mean big.

Dec1224

Given my aversion to cold water in the winter months, tea has been my saving grace when it comes to staying hydrated these days. Pairing a mug with a piece of fruit makes for a great little mid-morning and mid-afternoon “me” time.

Dec1225

My friends over at Celestial Seasonings recently sent me some of their new wellness teas to try as part of their 31 Days of TeaLC Challenge this month. I’m challenging myself to have at least two giant mugs a day this entire month to stay better hydrated.

Three if I’m feeling ambitious.

My favorites at the moment are the Natural Detox Wellness Tea which is naturally decaffeinated making it great bedtime tea. It’s also flavored with vanilla – possibly my favorite thing about it. I shared a mug with Kim in Seattle this week and she described it as tasty, aromatic and relaxing. I’d have to agree.

For an afternoon pick-me-up, I’ve been grabbing the Antioxidant Max Green Tea Blackberry Pomegranate and Peach Blossom Green Tea - I clearly have a thing for fruity teas along with big mugs.

In the spirit of spreading good hydration habits this winter, I get to give away a month’s supply of Celestial Seasonings teas to two of you! We’re talking boxes and boxes of yummy wellness teas – way more than a month’s supply in my opinion.

Here’s the deal.  There are more than a few ways to enter. The more ways you enter, the better chance you have at winning so make sure you comment once for each of the following things you do:

  • Tell me what your favorite Celestial Seasoning flavor is OR how their teas can help you improve your wellness in 2013.
  • Tweet about this giveaway: “I want to win a month’s supply of yummy @CelestialTea from @nutritionella! http://wp.me/p1jK0b-3rL”
  • Follow or Like on:

The winners will be chosen on Monday. Ready, set, go!

I am currently living in Thailand and, with the daily temp reaching 90+, it is vital for me to stay hydrated, especially because I am also exercising in the heat. However, somedays I find it difficult guzzling so much water, it seems to get a bit boring. The teas would help me mix up the ways in which i am hydrating myself and therefore help with my wellness in 2013!!

My absolute favorite Celestial Seasonings is the Green Tea with Lemon, but a very close second is the Peppermint. My mom always gave me the peppermint tea when I was little to help with stubborn coughs/sore throats, so it never fails to take me back to my childhood in NYC! Even though I now live in Chapel Hill (which is usually warmer than NY, but not lately), I love a gigantic cup of green tea to get me through the afternoon (and detox!) without upsetting my stomach like coffee.

PS – I like/follow you already on FB/Twitter/Instagram/Pintrest and read your blog daily on Bloglovin’!

My absolute favorite (at the moment, anyway) is Celestial’s Chai tea. I love the spice of it and usually add a bit of milk and sugar. Runner up would probably be Sugar Cookie sleigh ride or Candy cane Lane – I love their seasonal flavors!!!
