Day 4: New Orleans, Louisiana
Some sights from our day in New Orleans yesterday! With 95% humidity, Libby and I quickly gave up all hope of a half-decent hair day and got out to explore a bit before a massive storm moved into Louisiana. We strolled down Bourbon & Royal Street in search of some sort of healthy-ish breakfast and settled on a cranberry oat bar and coffee. It may have been a gray day but there was no shortage of color with all of the neon signs and tacky stores – one mannequin in particular caught our eye.
Road trip!
With the weather being so bad, Libby and I warmed up with a hot power yoga class at Reyn Studio, my favorite on the road so far – I just love the design and anything involving exposed brick & beams. The class definitely got us sweating & stretched us every which way – let me tell you, it felt great after 7+ hours of driving from Atlanta on Tuesday.
Thanks to Yelp, we found the highly rated Carmo for dinner, a “tropical cafe” with lots of vegan & vegetarian dishes. I’d say we’ve eaten decently healthy over the past few days but Libby and I have never been so happy to see fresh vegetables. We ended the night with a little live music and dancing at the Candlelight Lounge – the legendary Treme Brass Band came highly recommended from the staff at Carmo. The music culture here certainly does bring the city alive!
The bad weather has finally passed and we’re currently on the road to Dallas – looking forward to some drier and sunnier weather there, that’s for sure.

Should have come out to happy’s!!
Next time! The weather was just too unappealing – hot yoga won me over. :)
I understand. I’ve heard awesome things about Reyn
Looks amazing. New Orleans is on my list of places to visit
My favorite part is Jackson Square! But my favorite event is JazzFest which didn’t really seem like JazzFest because I saw Dave Matthews and Shaggy! Jazz?
