Our move West has officially begun! Even though I’m not technically heading out to San Francisco until early March, the hubs-to-be is driving himself & our new car to SF this week. I’ve spent a lot of time on the road this month already so decided to tag along just for the first leg, Chapel Hill to Nashville, before settling down to study for the RD exam.

One thing you may not know about me is I’m a Country music-loving, cowgirl boot-wearing Yankee – a Boston girl born & bred – but Southerner at heart. I’ve been dreaming of going to Nashville like a six year old dreams about Disney World for as long as I can remember.

And suddenly, there we were, surrounded by neon signs, saloons and boot stores galore.

I’ve done a fair bit of shopping and I must say, I’ve never seen so many boots within two square blocks in my entire life. I was lured into just about every store flashing a “Cowboy Boots – Buy 1, Get 2 Free” sign and almost had Rob talked into a pair. Almost. If we hadn’t just spent three days thinning out our closets for the move, I would have had him and two new pairs of cowgirl boots but going home empty handed does give me a valid argument to go back to Nashville now.

After nearly buying cowboy boots we followed our ears down Broadway, straight into a couple of legendary saloons with live country music. The fiancé & I clinked drinks and danced as I sang my heart out at Tootsies for two hours, probably the most famous place in town. After last night I know I will never hit up a karaoke bar in Nashville. I would be shamefully run out of town in a matter of minutes - but I do love to sing along with the best of them!

I’m headed home this afternoon and am already dreaming about my next trip to Nashville – and those boots I’ll be going back for.

Ever been? Got any favorite spots for me to try next time?

I hear ya on being a country music, boot loving Northerner. At least they understand it in the Midwest. In London, not so much. But I still love my boots.

I love Nashvegas! You have to go back and eat at the Pancake Pantry, they have sweet pancakes with brown sugar butter…perfection!

I’ve always wanted to go to Nashville! I’m a big country music lover as well and I’m planning a road trip down there *hopefully* next fall : )

Ahhh I’m also a New Englander (southeastern Masshole) but I absolutely LOVE country music. Me and my roommate are planning a trip to Nashville this spring and I couldn’t be more excited. Looks like I need to start saving money for some awesome cowboy boots!

Reading this post made me laugh because I was just as giddy as you were to go to Nashville for the first time and I’ve been itching to go back ever since. I’m pretty sure standing on Broadway with music blaring is my new favorite place on earth. We of course visited Tootsies, but it was pretty crowded so we went to The Stage and saw two amazing bands. I recommend the “touristy” attractions too – the Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame are great for country music lovers!

I’ve never been, but my friend went this summer and brought me back an amazing souvenir. She knows I love pancakes, and went to this apparently well known pancakes place in town, The Pancake Pantry, and literally brought a short stack of pumpkin ones back for me. They were amazing!

I love, love, loveeeee Nashville. I visited once and ever since, I’ve been dying to go back. I’m a Boston girl, born & raised, but I’d still move down there pretty fast. Especially if I could own a pair of those cowboy boots from your first picture :)
